New Menu @ Maison Francaise, KL - French Fine Dining

*This restaurant has closed down.

Maison Française, one of the finest French dining restaurant in KL has recently introduced a brand new menu. The kitchen is currently led by Brittany-born Chef Florent Lescouezec; his cooking style is simple yet exquisite, utilizing the freshest ingredients to create some of the best known French dishes.

At the restaurant, diners can choose from the Menu Degustation (6-courses for RM390++), Menu Gourmand (4-courses for RM280++) or from the a la carte menu, paired with premium French wines from their extensive wine list. Full menus can be viewed here.

The Gamberro rosso tartare with Kristal caviar, crustecean oil and quinoa taboule (RM110) promises a lavish start to your meal. Beautifully presented, this seafood delight is a light and healthy option, and features prawn tartare, Kristal caviar and the supergrain, quinoa.

Larnaudie duck foie gras custard, smoked eel, green apple emulsion, artichoke (RM90) - somewhat light, with a smooth, creamy texture.

French organic farm snails in fricassee, garlic butter and porcini mushrooms (RM90) - snails cooked with a herb, garlic butter mix encased in a crispy ball, paired with porcini sauce.

Homemade smoked duck breast, shredded confit of duck leg, 64.5 degrees egg, buttered kale  (RM80) - one of our favorite starters here, the egg is simply perfect, and lovely paired with the delicious duck prepared two-ways.

If you prefer something richer, go for the luscious Signature Lobster Bisque (RM75). Topped with lobster chunks, the soup was smooth and creamy with a deep rich flavour.

More lobster? Yes, please! For mains, diners can indulge in the Butter poached lobster (RM320), served with leek fondue and saffron potato and a Bourbon vanilla sauce. Top marks for presentation too, so pretty!

Butter poached wild French cod, pea and basil veloute, sauce vierge (RM140) - beautifully cooked fish with a deliciously, vibrant sauce.

French aged sirloin on the grill with mesquite wood, anchovy, horseradish and celeriac puree, onion tart - beautifully tender and juicy.. cuts like a dream.

Poultry breast blanquette, truffle juice and truffle white pudding sausage, black trumpet (RM160) ... ahh the scent of truffles is just intoxicating.

Rump of lamb, slow cooked, eggplant confit, buttered broad beans (RM140) - my favorite main course. The lamb was a beautiful pink, absolutely tender and full of flavour and complemented beautifully with a creamy eggplant confit.

Chocolate pear, quince paste, Jivara and Dulcey Chocolate Mousse (RM40) - tasted pretty similar to an Opera cake, beautiful light layers.

Valrhona dark chocolate and pistachio lava cake, vanilla ice cream (RM40) - a chocolate lover's dream.. rich and sinful.

Classic Tatin apple pie, Bourbon vanilla cream cheese - lovely, crisp base and I especially liked the pairing with the vanilla cream cheese. Usually served with cardamom ice cream too.

  1. Real white table linen, fresh flowers - enough said, truly a class above the rest.
